Travel in Japan 2003

On the coast, this city was the capital of Japan from 1185 to 1333. It is extremely pleasant to visit the city by foot or by renting a bicycle at the station. Leaned with the mountain and on the coast, it's for this strategic position that the shogun had decided to install his capital here. The Chinese never been able to get the city. But, this position prohibited the possibility of extending and so the political influence of Kamakura was ended.
